Continued Training

Now that you have been trained in the basics, there is additional training that you will want to take!  There are many opportunities to continue to learn and enhance your skills.  Supplemental training is available for many areas of Scouting.  Please note that for online sessions, you will need your Scout Identification Number to register for online training.  

Counselor in Training Program

A Counselor In Training is a youth who volunteers for a two to three week campstaff experience.  CIT's will get to live at camp, gain experience in multiple program areas at camp and learn valuable leadership experience.  Gamehaven Scout Reservation is looking for energetic individuals 14 years of age and older by June 1st who are interested.  Both male and females youth are encouraged apply.  Learn more.

Supplemental and Online Training Sessions

Supplemental training is offered online or requested or may be taken at another council's training event.   If you are interested in taking supplemental training, email info@gamehavenbsa.org for information on upcoming training sessions or check the council calendar for training information.

 

Online Learning Center

The Online Learning Center site provides a variety of materials, from quick references to complete courses, all designed to help our members improve leadership skills.   E-learning courses also help adults deliver quality Scouting experiences to youth.  A login is required, however, anyone may create a user account and view the courses.  Registered members of the BSA may provide their member numbers to receive credit.

Merit Badge Counselor Instructors Guide

This module will guide new and potential merit badge counselors through their responsibilities in the role and will give them an understanding of the methods of counseling scouts.

 

Youth Training Online

BSA has online training that is available for youth.  One such course is Den Chief Training.  Boy Scouts wishing to become den chiefs will want to take this online course as part of their training to become a den chief.  There is also Venturing Crew Orientation and many other worthwhile courses.  Check it out!

Safe Scouting

Gamehaven practices safe scouting.  Nothing is more important than Safety in Scouting.  There are many resources for safe scouting information.
