Order of the Arrow
The Blue Ox Lodge of the Order of the Arrow has served scouts in Gamehaven Council for more than 80 years, providing recognition of outstanding scouts, leadership training, and fun.
What Do We Do?
The Lodge puts on several events during the year. These range from the conclaves at camp to our awards banquet to the annual Camp-o-rama. The Lodge youth leaders plan, organize, and run these events.
Arrowmen can also attend National events such as the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) where 7,000 arrowmen will take over the Unversity of Indiana campus for fun, training, and fellowship.
There is also an opportunity to learn leadership skills - from the Lodge Leadership Development Conference, to region, level National Leadership Seminars.
And Arrowmen have special opportunities to go to Philmont, Northern Tier, and Sea Base. The Trail Crew, Wilderness Voyage, and Ocean Adventure programs mix a week of service - maintaining trails, fixing portages, and reef habiliatation - within a week treking through the wilderness.
OA's 2011 National Events
This event is for all Arrowmen with the desire to learn more about American Indian culture and Arrowmen who wish to expand their skills and understanding of the Order’s ceremonies and induction process. More detail is provided on National's website. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Lodge Adviser, Shawn Peters.
This is next major service project. It will be at the New River Gorge National River Area in West Virginia. The OA will work with the National Park Service to build new biking and hiking trails in the park. More detail is provided on National's website. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Lodge Adviser, Shawn Peters.
