Gamehaven Council and Gamehaven Scout Reservation are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our Scouts and volunteers. To ensure we have as safe and healthy workplace, we developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan.
Scouts, Scouters and volunteers are all responsible for putting this plan into action. Our goal is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at our camp and in our communities, and that requires full cooperation from all of us. Working together is the only way we can establish and maintain the safety and health of everyone who enters our camp.
Following the plan
Scouts, Scouters and volunteers (Campers) are responsible for putting the plan into action and following it completely. We all have the authority to enforce the requirements and expectations of this plan, but Gamehaven Council reserves the right to limit use of Gamehaven Scout Reservation if the plan is not followed.
We used the following guidelines to develop this plan:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Suggestions for Youth and Summer Camps,
Boy Scouts of America COVID-19 FAQ
Gamehaven Council Guidelines for meeting.

Identifying sick campers and making sure they stay home
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19.
These are our procedures for:
Screening campers at the start of each day.
Before leaving home for Gamehaven Scout Reservation all campers should answer no to the following questions. These questions should be asked everyday you are at Gamehaven Scout Reservation. For multiple day stays, please use the Gamehaven Scout Reservation Illness Screening sheet for each camper.
1. Take temperature, are you running a fever (100.4 or higher)?
2. Have you been exposed to anyone who has COVID-19 in past 14 days?
3. Do you have any of the above list symptoms?
Identifying and isolating campers with COVID-19 symptoms or exposure to someone with COVID-19 before they're sent home.
If while at Gamehaven Scout Reservation any camper develops symptoms, they should be separated from the rest of the group, while maintaining Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection guidelines, to the council parking lot.
The camper with symptoms parents should be contacted and that camper should be picked up from Gamehaven Scout Reservation.
All campers should leave Gamehaven Scout Reservation
Communicating to campers when they might have been exposed.
The parents of all other campers in the group should be notified. Please do not disclose the name of the camper who has symptoms.
If a camper becomes ill, please text 507-722-2359

Physical distancing and barriers
Please continue to follow these guidelines from the Gamehaven Council:
Gatherings must be maximum of 25 total people (this includes youth, adult leaders, parents and siblings).
3-foot radius around each participant should be kept.
Youth Protection Guidelines followed (two registered adult leaders must be present).
Recommended that we create PODS (8 youth and 2 adults) for providing program. PODS should remain consistent to limit exposure. There should be no intermixing of PODS. With groups of 25 it allows for 2 pods to be able to take part at the same time.
Volunteers should also limit intermixing with PODS when at all possible
Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings.
Campers hygiene and face coverings
A. Campers wash their hands regularly
Please do not wash hands directly at water sources found throughout Gamehaven Scout Reservation, please gather water and take to your site.
We encourage the use of hand sanitizer and suggest all campers bring that to camp with them.
B. We provide protective supplies to our campers and what they should bring
In red coolers found at Gamehaven Council Scout Reservation you will find the following:
Thermometer for temperature checks-Please leave this at the coolers for use by all
If the above items are not there please text 507-722-2359
Units should bring all the items they normally would bring to camp
All campers should bring a face covering and hand sanitizer
All buildings at Gamehaven Scout Reservation remain closed at this time.
Privies/Latrines are open for your use, but masks are required for use.
Cleaning and sanitizing
Mentioned above, spray bottles and disinfecting tablets are available at the Admin Building in coolers found out front.
All groups should pick up a spray bottle and disinfecting tablet for their use
Mixing is easy, drop one tablet in a spray bottle, fill with water and shake. Color should change to a blue tint.
Privies/Latrines should have all surfaces sprayed before and after ever use.
Drop-off and pick-up
All Gamehaven Scout Reservations policies and procedures should be followed to limit driving traffic on the property. One car for emergencies and unit gear trailer are allowed on the property during your stay
Gates will be locked, but a lockbox can be found on the gate at the service road by the maintenance building. The code is 1903. We ask that you not bring vehicles in and out and that the gate remain locked.
We encourage the use of both ends of the parking lot to ensure we do not have groups intermixing in order to have social distancing.
