Gamehaven Event Changes & Coronavirus

Gamehaven Council Friends and Families,

The Gamehaven Council truly cares for our Scouts, volunteers, staff and alumni. Health and Safety is our first priority. In light of the rapidly changing landscape with regards to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we wanted to make a statement and give updates on council activities. We will continue to do updates as needed as we all continue to follow and deal with this current situation.

As many of you know, Scouting happens locally, we ask every Pack, Troop, Post and Crew in the council to look at what your local situation in regards to meetings, activities and outings. Work with your charter partner/meeting location as well as look for suggestions and recommendations from your local Health Department. All Scout leaders should encourage volunteers and Scouts to stay home when ill. Covering coughs and sneezes, disinfecting door handles and other frequently touched surfaces, and proper handwashing are all things that can help prevent illnesses.

With the current situation and the recent press conference by Governor Walz, we will be postponing the Merit Badge Fair and the Council Annual Dinner.

The Merit Badge Fair scheduled for March 21, 2020, will take place on April 18, 2020. The location at Willow Creek will remain the same. With the change in date, we may have changes in classes. We will keep the information found on the council website current. Please check back for more details.

The Council Annual Dinner scheduled for March 26, 2020, will take place on May 12, 2020. The location at The Rochester International Event Center will also remain the same.

Please check back for more details about the events.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates. Our leadership team will share information via e-mail to Gamehaven Council members should the need arise to close or postpone any other District, Council, or Program activities

In the meantime, please encourage your Scouts to be clean, helpful, kind and brave. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Dugan at 507-287-1410 or Jason.Dugan@scouting.org.
